Going to an event
My card was declined
Declines come from your bank. The usual causes are a ZIP code mismatch, a fraud block or a limit, and each has a quick fix.
When a payment is declined, the decision comes from your bank, not from slash.fm or the organizer. Payments are processed by Stripe, and slash.fm can't approve a payment your bank declined.
| Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Billing ZIP doesn't match. The ZIP code you entered isn't the one your bank has. | Re-enter it exactly as it appears on your card statement. |
| Fraud block. Your bank flagged the payment. Ticket payments late at night often get flagged. | Approve the alert in your banking app, then try again. |
| Verification not finished. Your bank's security step was closed or timed out. | Try again and complete it. |
| Limit reached. Not enough balance or credit, or a daily limit. | Use another card, or ask your bank to raise the limit. |
| Card not supported. Some prepaid and gift cards can't be used online. | Use a different card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. |
Your tickets are held for 10 minutes
Checkout holds your tickets for 10 minutes. If the time runs out, start again from the event page.
Don't keep retrying the same card
Many attempts in a row can make your bank lock the card. If you see a charge after a decline, it's usually a temporary hold. See A charge I don't recognize.
