What a Form 1099-K is
IRS Form 1099-K reports the total amount paid to you for resale sales in a calendar year.
When one is issued
A form is issued when your payments in a year pass the federal threshold or your state's threshold. For the 2025 tax year onward, the federal threshold is more than $20,000 across more than 200 transactions. Some states have lower thresholds.
How your tax information is collected
Your payout account is with Stripe, which collects your tax details securely when you set it up or when a threshold is close. slash.fm will never ask for your tax information by phone, text or email.
Below the threshold
If you don't pass a threshold, no form is issued, but you're still responsible for reporting taxable income.
