Going to an event

My ticket won't scan

How to get your code scanning at the door, what the scanner messages mean, and what the door team can do.

Before you reach the door

  • Open your ticket in the slash.fm app while you have signal. After that, the live code works offline.
  • Charge your phone. Your ticket is on your phone.
  • Have your ID ready if the event has an age limit.

At the scanner

  1. Turn your screen brightness all the way up.
  2. Hold the phone flat and still, about 6 inches from the scanner.
  3. Show the live ticket in the app. Don't show a screenshot.

What the scanner messages mean

MessageWhat it means
Old code, likely a screenshotThe code was real a while ago but isn't live. Open the ticket in the slash.fm app and show the live code.
Already scannedThis ticket has already been used to get in. If that wasn't you, someone else had your code. Tell the door team.
Open the ticket in the slash.fm appThe organizer only accepts the live code from the app, not the fixed code from the slash.fm website.
Refunded or not validThe order was refunded, or the ticket was sent or sold to someone else, so this code no longer works.
Wrong eventThe ticket is for a different event or date.

If it still won't scan

The door team works for the organizer, not slash.fm. They can look your ticket up by name and check you in. slash.fm support can't help in real time at the door.
