Code of conduct
The rules for everyone who buys, sells, resells or attends events through slash.fm, and what happens when they're broken.
slash.fm exists so people can go out, dance and feel safe doing it. This code of conduct applies to everyone who uses slash.fm: people buying, selling or reselling tickets, people at events, organizers, promoters, artists and anyone working at an event sold through slash.fm. It applies at events, in the slash.fm app and on the slash.fm website, and in messages sent through slash.fm.
Organizers and venues often have their own rules too. Where theirs are stricter, theirs apply at their event.
1. Respect everyone
Everyone is welcome on slash.fm regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, body or appearance. We don't allow:
- Discrimination, slurs or hate speech, including in event listings, names and messages
- Refusing entry or service to someone because of who they are
- Bullying, intimidation or deliberately humiliating someone
- Promoting hate groups or symbols
2. Consent comes first
- Sexual harassment, including unwanted touching, comments, advances or gestures
- Continuing to approach someone after they've said no or moved away
- Filming or photographing someone without their consent, especially in toilets or changing areas
- Sharing intimate images of someone without their consent
- Spiking a drink, or giving someone a substance without their knowledge
Someone too intoxicated to understand what's happening can't give consent.
3. No violence or threats
- Physical violence, or threatening violence in person or online
- Carrying weapons
- Encouraging others to hurt themselves or someone else
- Stalking, or following someone to or from an event
4. Look after yourself and others
- Follow instructions from venue staff, security and medical teams
- Don't bring anything the venue doesn't allow
- If someone needs help, tell staff and don't leave them alone
slash.fm doesn't allow the sale of illegal drugs through events or listings. Medical and welfare teams are there to help, not to get you in trouble. See Staying safe at events.
5. Buy, sell and resell honestly
- Don't use bots, scripts or multiple accounts to get more tickets than you're allowed
- Don't sell fake tickets, screenshots or the same ticket twice, on slash.fm or anywhere else
- Don't impersonate slash.fm, an organizer, an artist or anyone else
- Don't file false chargebacks or refund requests
- Don't use someone else's card, phone number or account without permission
6. Treat staff and support with respect
Abuse or threats towards anyone working at an event or for slash.fm aren't tolerated.
7. Standards for organizers
- List events honestly. The date, venue, lineup, age limit and what's included must be accurate, and changed in slash.fm when they change.
- Cancel in slash.fm if an event isn't going ahead, so every buyer is refunded.
- Respond to customer inquiries and refund requests within 7 days.
- Run events safely and legally, with the licences, permits, insurance, security and medical cover the event needs.
- Apply entry rules fairly. Door policies can't be used to discriminate.
- Act on reports of harassment at your events.
Reporting
If something happens at an event, tell venue staff or security straight away. In an emergency, call 911. You can also report it to slash.fm afterwards. See Report harassment or an incident.
What happens when the rules are broken
- A warning
- Cancelling tickets or resale listings
- Suspending or banning an account
- Taking down an organizer's events or unapproving the organizer
- Sharing information with the organizer, venue or police where the law allows and it's needed to keep people safe
