Organizing an event

Event setup checklist

What to fill in so buyers have what they need, and the ticket and policy settings worth checking before you publish.

Most buyer questions are about something that wasn't on the event page. A complete listing sells better and saves you replies.

Your organizer dashboard

Events, orders, refund requests, resale, guest list, team, payouts and settings.

The basics

  • Title, flyer and description
  • Start time and end time, in the event's own time zone
  • Venue name and address. Turn on Hide address until purchase for a secret location.
  • Lineup
  • Age limit (all ages, 18+ or 21+) and dress code

Put anything else buyers ask about in the description: last entry, re-entry, bag policy, accessibility, and how guest list and tables work at your event.

Tickets

  • Ticket types: name, price, quantity and a clear description. Group them, for example under Tables.
  • Sale windows and Max per order (default 10).
  • Next tier: when one ticket type sells out, the next goes on sale automatically.
  • Fees: buyers pay the slash.fm fee, or you absorb it. See Fees for organizers.
  • Hidden or password tickets for presales.
  • Require approval on free tickets, so you approve each request.

Settings

  • Transfers: on by default. You can turn them off, or stop them 1 hour or 1 day before doors.
  • slash.fm Resale: off by default. See Resale for your event.
  • App codes only: in the app's Edit details, under At the door. Only the live code in the slash.fm app gets in.
  • Event password and Show on Explore, for private nights.
